Lets talk about it:
-
Have you been struggling mentally, emotionally, or even physically?
-
Have you been bed rotting, dreading getting up in the morning or feel stuck in a consistent loop you believe you’ll never escape?
I too felt this way, but now I feel as though I am on the right path. I am working with myself, instead of against myself. Of course there are still rough days, we are human, but never as many as I had previously. I really wanted to make a post on reconnecting to yourself. It is so important, you MUST learn how to properly love and appreciate and understand yourself to live a happy and fulfilled life.
So let's get into the ways you can reconnect with yourself!
-
Shadow work really helped me in the beginning and made me come to my senses about aspects of my life I had pushed so far down I forgot they even existed. Also made me realize that I needed to set boundaries.
-
With that another way is to lay out personal boundaries, we are surrounded by energy. Everyone has some type of energy to them and setting boundaries with yourself will prevent people from walking all over you or treating you with negativity and disrespect. Also your house, land and your person has spirits, it's good to set boundaries with them as well. It sounds funny, but it actually works. It’s just the same as setting relationship boundaries whether that's romantic or friendly, normally you’ll automatically do this, no? Your surroundings have a VERY large impact on your life, don’t ignore them.
-
This one is EXTREMELY hard to do but it is something that we might have to do in the end. Cutting certain things out of our life either for ever or until you are ready to properly deal with it in the most mature way. No one or thing is worth your time if you are suffering. The best thing for this is inner child work, find a picture of little you, bonus if you have a picture of you struggling before you even knew how to even struggle. Use it as your home screen on your phone, computer, tablet, or just somewhere you’ll see it everyday and tell little you “I’ve got you now don’t worry”. Take control, this is your life. Leave that toxic relationship, I can tell you first hand that it will change your life. You will thrive and things do get better :)
-
Do something that will make you shocked of yourself, this can be anything. Try a new career, a new hobby or travel somewhere you never thought you would! You can start small and work your way up! For me this was moving 12 hours away from my friends and family to try out a new city, I eventually moved back home. But I can say I did that, I lived somewhere new for 4 years before I was 30! With how my anxiety and depression work, I never thought that would be a possibility for me but it was!
-
This last one I have for you is to go outside. Even if it’s just sitting in a chair outside of your home. What do you smell? What do you hear? What do you feel? What do you see? Can you taste anything? Sometimes surrounding yourself with life can reconnect oneself, it makes you feel less alone. I believe that is why so many people who suffer from feeling isolated have pets, because no matter what, they rely on you, you are their person. The trees are also very interesting to observe, they are so helpful to humans and all kinds of critters. Also absolutely love finding cute little flowers growing out of concrete, it’s just so interesting to me how that is even possible.
In conclusion
-
Do everything with intention.
-
If you do practice witchcraft, do self care rituals on a regular basis. And glamor magick as well.
-
Everything happens for a reason and the universe has your back if you have hers.
-
It takes time to heal and recover from trauma, go easy on yourself! You can do it, I promise. You have to treat yourself like how you wished little you was treated, would you be this harsh to a 4 year old you?
-
Once you get past these you’ll begin to live a life carefree, living for you and you only.
-
Like mother Ru says “if you don’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love someone else”
